Good Company MultiView small business entrepreneurship web series: Galaxy Multi Rides (Port Charlotte, FL) a business that creates fun bounce houses, inflatable rides and games.
MultiView’s Good Company web series discovers and highlights entrepreneurs and small businesses– the dreamers, believers and achievers.
Innovators, entrepreneurs, small businesses, social enterprises, and change makers use their wits, talents, drive and business skills to unique build companies, products and services that make a difference.
Galaxy Multi Rides is owned by Robin and Katie Whincup, who originally sought to just make supplementary income by renting out bounce houses.
However as the business grew, the Whincups saw multiple opportunities to innovate.
They acknowledged that the automated bull was a popular ride, but was a hassle to install, taking up to 2-3 hours.
They used their family’s talents, ingenuity and creativity to start making customized rides.
The Whincup family turned automated bulls into inflatable rides and made them not only safer, but easier to set-up, teardown and transport. At events, other companies and vendors would ask where they found their inflatables and if they could order one, too.
By recognizing an opportunity and acting on it, the Whincups created a newly revamped, popular multi-ride and entered into the manufacturing and game design business.
Soon after, a myriad of other innovative inflatable game inventions and rides followed. Galaxy was a success – building a niche market for itself by deciding to be unique.
